Middle School Club Options 


Running Club (Grades 6 - 8) 


            The middle school RCSAM Running Club is for runners of every level!  Experienced or not, Coach Jones will help get you on the right... track.  We'll work on proper stretching, run drills, and learn techniques to improve your pace.  You'll train to run a 5K race and work throughout the year on running faster and farther than you ever thought yourself capable.  (Suggested attire:  proper running shoes, GPS watch or phone with the MapMyRun app) 


Mathletics Club- Math Counts (Grades 6-8; Invitation Only) 

Mathletics is an elite academic team, generated for students who excel in math. The participants of this club will practice each week to prepare for an individual online contest which will take place in the spring against students in Florida. This club provides an enrichment opportunity to participate in an academic activity and to gain recognition for mathematical achievement. The goal of the contest is educational and to promote enjoyment in the study of math for grades 6-8. Each contest includes topics appropriate for each grade at a higher academic level. The questions cover a variety of areas requiring students to use higher order thinking and problem-solving skills. The contest consists of topics of interest to above-average students. 

Model United Nations Club (Grades 6-8; Invitation Only) 

Model United Nations is an authentic simulation of the UN General Assembly which introduces students to the world of diplomacy, negotiation, and decision making. Students step into the shoes of ambassadors of countries that are members of the UN. Our goal this year is to represent our school in two competitions one being in New York.  

Art Club (Grades 6-8; $10 Fee for supplies) 

During this club we will be exploring art native to Latin American and Hispanic Cultures. We will be learning about the different artistic styles native to Latin And Hispanic cultures. 

Soccer club (Grades 6-8) 

Students will develop soccer skills and play a quick scrimmage to put their new-found skills to the test. Students will need to have proper equipment to ensure safety.  

Science Olympiad (Grades 6-8; Invitation Only) 


Science Olympiad is special science competition in which school-based teams of up to fifteen students compete in twenty-three events across various science fields. In previous years, our students prepared for and competed in events spanning fields such as astronomy, anatomy, chemistry, entomology, geology, physics, and mechanical engineering. The Science Olympiad program is a wonderful opportunity to involve students in all disciplines of science and continue their learning well beyond that of the classroom. 


Spanish Club (Grades 6-8) 


Our club gives students the opportunity to enjoy learning about some fun aspects of Hispanic cultures while learning some Spanish. We will do fun, interactive activities with the students that will include games, art projects, making food, learning about music and dance, having dialogues, and more, in a relaxed, social atmosphere. 


ROBOTICS-FLL TEAM (Grades 6-8; Invitation Only) 

Tomorrow’s innovators practice imaginative thinking and teamworkGuided by adult Coaches, FIRST LEGO League teams research a real-world problem such as food safety, recycling, energy, etc., and are challenged to develop a solution. They also must design, build, program a robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS® technology, then compete on a table-top playing field. It all adds up to tons of fun while they learn to apply science, technology, engineering, and math concepts (STEM), plus a big dose of imagination, to solve a problem. Along their discovery journey, they develop critical thinking and team-building skills, basic STEM applications, and even presentation skills, as they must present their solutions with a dash of creativity to judges. They also practice the Program’s signature Core Values.  


Volleyball (grades 6-8; $25 Fee for supplies) 

Students that participate in the RCSAM Volleyball club will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of various volleyball, while also obtaining knowledge on sportsmanship, character, and team work. Each day there will be an age appropriate skill training session and or competition with proper warm up and cool down procedures.  


Yoga (grades 6-8) 

Students that participate in the RCSAM Yoga club will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of and basic poses of Yoga. Throughout the club each student will work on developing clear and safe alignment in foundational poses, while increasing their flexibility and strength.
