Model United Nations Club
Model United Nations is an authentic simulation of the UN General Assembly which introduces students to the world of diplomacy, negotiation, and decision making. Students step into the shoes of ambassadors of countries that are members of the UN. Our goal this year is to represent our school in two competitions, one being in New York.
Science Olympiad
Science Olympiad is a special science competition in which school-based teams of up to 15 students compete in 23 events across various science fields. In previous years, our students prepared for and competed in events spanning fields such as astronomy, anatomy, chemistry, entomology, geology, physics, and mechanical engineering. The Science Olympiad program is a wonderful opportunity to involve students in all disciplines of science and continue their learning well beyond that of the classroom.
Seaperch
Seaperch is an innovative underwater robotics program that equips teachers and students to build an underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) in an in-school or out-of-school setting. Seaperch is not just a program, it is a competition. Students who successfully complete a Seaperch build can participate in local and regional competitions.
Yearbook Club
Yearbook Club is a group of devoted, highly mature students who work with the co-sponsors to produce a printed record of the school year using Lifetouch’s portraits and programs. It is a high-quality production that takes weeks and months on end of planning, executing, and meticulous editing so we can sell an amazing physical hardback yearbook to commemorate our amazing RCSAM students, faculty, staff, and summarize the years big events and programs.
Student Council
The goal is to give a group of elective and volunteer students an opportunity to work together and develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare the student council is the voice of the student body.
Robotics-FLL Team
First LEGO League teams research real world problems such as food safety, recycling, energy, etc. and are challenged to develop a solution. They also must design, build, and program a robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS technology, then compete on a tabletop playing field. Along their discovery journey, they develop critical thinking and team-building skills, basic STEM applications, and even presentation skills, as they must present their solutions with a dash of creativity to judges.
